The Science of Sinclair Coefficients
Like powerlifting formulas, the Sinclair formula uses a logarithmic curve to represent biological scalability. It models how muscle force potential grows relative to body weight, assuming that maximum total strength scales alongside muscle mass cross-sectional area. Because heavier athletes face diminishing returns in relative strength, the Sinclair coefficient adjusts their total to represent the theoretical lift equivalent at a unified bodyweight standard.
