3. The Kouri Study and the 25.0 Reference Point
In a 1995 study published in the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, Kouri et al. analyzed male athletes and reported that the natural athletes in that sample did not exceed a normalized FFMI of about 25. This is a useful historical reference point, not a diagnostic threshold or proof of enhancement.
