Understanding Strength Classifications

Comparing absolute lifting weights across the gym is often misleading. An 80kg individual benching 100kg is lifting 1.25x their bodyweight, placing them in the Intermediate category, whereas a 120kg individual benching 120kg is lifting 1.0x their bodyweight, which falls into the Novice class. By adjusting for total mass, you get a clean reflection of relative force capacity, helping you identify training weak points and target development areas.
